Title: An Analysis of Russia’s Inflation and the Prospects of Practicing Inflation Target
Abstract: As a high-inflation country, Russia was making preparations for bringing in an inflation target framework in recent years. The inflation target which sprang up in the early 1990s was a monetary policy system or policy framework targeted at a lower and more stable inflation. Given complicated causes of Russia’s inflation, meeting with obstacles of social system and environment, it is difficult for Russia to carry out inflation target in an allround way in near future. But, at the monetary policy level of the central bank, it is possible to adopt some essential elements of the inflation target framework in order to create conditions for an all-round practice of the inflation target when the conditions become mature.
