Title: STUDY ON SOURCE ROCKS OF PALAEOZOIC IN THE EASTERN QAIDM BASIN
Abstract: The geochemical characters of rock samples of Cambrian, Ordovician, Devonian and Carboniferous of the Palaeozoic in the eastern Qaidm basin are investigated. The organic carbon content, content and conversion radio of soluble organic matter are analyzed. The parameters of pyrolysis, biomarker characters of saturated hydrocarbon and stable carbon isotope quality of individual hydrocarbon, as well as abundance, type and maturity of the organic matters are studied. The potential of generating hydrocarbon are appraised. The results show that the Palaeozoic rock samples have different organic matter abundances. The Carboniferous mudstone may be a good source rock relatively, and Carboniferous limestone is probable source rock in the areas of Yangchangzigou shihuigou and northern Delingha, while the other Paleozoic systems may not be the available source rocks. The type of organic matters may be type Ⅰ or type Ⅱ. Most of the rock samples belong to maturity or over maturity stages. Most of the Palaeozoic sediments were deposited in super reducing marine environment, with part of them in weakly oxic to weakly reducing transitional environment.
