Title: Effect of serum progesterone on the day of human chorionic gonadotrophin administration on clinical outcome in IVF-ET
Abstract: Objective:To evaluate the effect of serum progesterone on the day of human chorionic gonadotrophin administration on clinical outcome in IVF-ET. Methods:1 416 cycles of infertile patients undergoing IVF-ET from January 2008 to December 2009 were reviewed. The cycles were divided into three groups according to serum progesterone levels on the day of HCG administra-tion:P2 ng/ml(group A) ,2 ng/ml≤P3 ng/ml(group B) ,P≥3 ng/ml(group C) . Then compared their age, infertility duration, thick of endometrium, follicle numbers, the number of oocytes, embryos,ET embryos, implantation rate and pregnancy rate. Results:Their age, infertility duration, thick of endometrium, follicle numbers, the number of oocytes, embryos,ET embryos were no significant difference in all groups. Implantation rates were 27.81%,22.36% and 15.96% respectively and pregnancy rates were 42.89%,36.48% and 27.27%,the differences were statistically significant. Conclusion:Implantation rate and pregnancy rate significantly decrease when serum progesterone levels on the day of HCG administration increase.
