Title: Photosynthesis and Transpiration Characteristics of Sterculia nobililis Seedlings in Guangxi Tropical Karst Area
Abstract: [Objective] The aim of this paper was to study the photosynthesis and transpiration characteristics of S.nobililis seedlings under different water conditions.[Method] The effect of water stress on the net photosynthesis rate,transpiration rate,stomata conduct,intercellular carbon dioxide concentration and water use efficiency of 1-year old seedlings of S.nobililis was studied by pot experiment.[Result] There were significant difference in net photosynthesis rate,transpiration rate,stomata conduct and water use efficiency of the S.nobililis seedlings under pot experiment of different water conditions.The condition of long-term water stress generated the decreasing ofthe net photosynthesis rate,transpiration rate,stomata conduct of seedlings obviously,whereas increasing the water use efficiency.[Conclusion] The S.nobililis belong to a tree of lower photosynthesis rate,transpiration rate and water use efficiency.
