Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of bacterial lipopolysaccharide on long term intelligence of the newborn rats with hypoxic ischemic brain damage (HIBD).Methods The models of newborn rats LPS+HIBD ...Objective To investigate the effect of bacterial lipopolysaccharide on long term intelligence of the newborn rats with hypoxic ischemic brain damage (HIBD).Methods The models of newborn rats LPS+HIBD were established and 0.3 mg/kg dosage lipopolysaccharide was administered to the 7 day old rats 4 hours before hypoxic ischemia , HIBD group and control group only were administered saline .With maze test ,the changes of long term learning memory abilities in rats were observed.Results The function of learning and memory was lower in LPS+HIBD group than in HIBD group. The times to reach the standard increased significantly in LPS+HIBD group ; the correct rate lessened significantly in LPS+HIBD group. There was significantly difference between HIBD group and control group(P0.05).Conclusions LPS can sensitize the immature rat brain with hypoxic ischemic brain damage and lower the learning memory ability after HIBD further.Read More
