Title: Dynamic Characteristics of Surrounding Rock Blasting-Caused Shock of Underground Powerhouse Chambers for Xiaowan Hydropower Project
Abstract: The Xiaowan underground powerhouse surrounding rock blasting particle vibration prediction model was established on the basis of the site blasting shock test and measurement. The shocking safety distances for blasting with various charges and safe charge for specific distance are both determined according to the particle vibration velocity safety control standard. The high test vibration velocity and high frequency recorded at the site have proved that the rockmass of the project is rather sound. The anisotropy of blasting shock depends on the anisotropy of the surrounding rock properties and structure. The test results also indicate that the restraint of the surrounding rock has scale effect. Small periphery and intensive restraint enhance blasting effect, otherwise vibration velocity decreases and frequency reduces.
