Title: Influence of placental peptide injection on bone healing time and incidence of infections in open fracture patients
Abstract: OBJECTIVE To explore the influence of placental peptide injection on bone healing time and incidence of infections in limbs open fracture patients so as to ensure the prognosis.METHODS A total of 100 limbs open fracture patients who were treated in the hospital from Mar 2010 to Jun 2012 were randomly assigned and divided into two groups, with 50 cases in each;the patients in the control group received the conventional surgery, while the patients in the experimental group were treated with additional placental peptide injection based on the conventional therapy;the bone healing time and the incidence of infections were observed and compared between the two groups.RESULTS After the treatment, the healing time of humerus fracture was(14.2±1.5)weeks in the experimental group,(17.9±1.8)weeks in the control group;the healing time of radius and ulna fracture was(14.0±1.2)weeks in the experimental group,(18.3±1.9)weeks in the control group;the healing time of femur fracture was(13.5±0.9)weeks in the experimental group,(17.1±2.1)weeks in the control group;the healing time of tibiofibula fracture was(13.4±1.4)weeks in the experimental group,(17.2±2.9)weeks in the control group;the incidence of infections was 2.0%in the experimental group,28.0%in the control group;as compared with all the data, there was significant difference(P0.05).CONCLUSION As for the treatment of the patients with limbs fracture, the placental peptide injection can not only promote the the bone healing but effectively reduce the incidence of postoperative infections.
