Title: Effect of Longbikang on expression of PCNA in prostate tissue of rats with benign prostatic hyperplasia
Abstract: Objective To observe the effect of Longbikang on expression of Proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) in prostatic tissues of the rats with benign prostatic hyperplasia.Methods Male SD rats were randomly assigned to control group,model group,Qianliekang group,Longbikang low-dose group,Longbikang medium-dose group,and Longbikang high-dose group.The rat model of benign prostatic hyperplasia was developed by sastration and injection of testosterone propionate.And then prostatic wet weight,prostatic index,PCNA,and pathological changes were observed.Results Compared with those in control group the prostatic wet weight,prostatic index,and expression of PCNA were significantly increased in model group(P0.01),and were significantly decreased in Longbikang groups and Qianliekang group(P0.01).These indices in Longbikang high-dose group were lower than those in Longbikang medium-and low-dose groups and Qianliekang group.Under the light microscope,the pathological tissue structure in Longbikang high-dose group was approximate to that in control group.Conclusions The high expression of PCNA is related to benign prostatic hyperplasia.Longbikang can regulate the expression of PCNA to suppress benign prostatic hyperplasia.The efficacy of high-dose Longbikang is significant.
