Title: Germination Characteristics of Astragalus membranaceus Seeds
Abstract: The water absorptions of the seeds of wild and domesticated Astragalus membranaceus and the germination rates of Astragalus membranaceus seeds under different treatments were indoors measured and then compared, which denoted that the Astragalus membranaceus seeds rubbed with sand germinated at a remarkably higher rate than the seeds treated in other ways and thus it followed that the mechanical inhibition resulting from the testa of Astragalus membranaceus seeds was the direct reason why Astragalus membranaceus seeds germinated at a low rate;Astragalus membranaceus seeds under the alteration treatment of 15℃ and 23℃ germinated at a higher rate than those under other temperature treatments did;Different harvesting dates could exert influence on seed germination through affecting seed maturity.
