Title: An Empirical Analysis of China's Government Transformation and Economic Growth
Abstract: Based on the statistics from 1978 to 2008,from the view of China's fiscal expenditure and its structure,this paper depicts the change of government functions since China's reform and opening up.It also makes empirical analysis on the views taken by many scholars that the promoting effect of investment on economic growth will gradually weaken and the solution of urban-rural income gap is to increase the expenditure of financial support for agriculture.It reaches a conclusion against the general theory,then puts forward that transformation of government functions should start from changing economic growth mode and realizing social equity and justice.
