Title: Selection and Cross Combination Study on the Anti-stress Lean Pig Line
Abstract: Anti-stress lean pig line was bred by the combination use of molecular-assisted-selection and conventional breeding techniques with Hubei white pig as the basic population. After systematic breeding of 5 generations,stress-sensitive gene has been completely removed.Various economic traits of the anti-stress lean pig line have been reached and exceeded the breeding goal. For boar and gilts of anti-stress line, the body mass at the age of 6 months were 104.04 kg and 97.83 kg and the age reaching 90 kg was 164.76 d and 169.42 d with backfat thickness 1.59 cm and 1.50 cm respectively;and litter size of sows 12.82-12.86 heads. The age reaching 90 kg of sib test was 166.61d with feed conversion rate 2.76,and lean percentage in the carcass was 61.32%.The anti-stress line as female parents, the age reaching 90 kg of hybrids of Pietrain×Kang and Duroc×Kang was 156.59 d and 160.35 d with feed conversion rate 2.33 and 2.34,lean percentage 64.09% and 64.64%,and intramuscular fat 2.56% and 3.12%,respectively.The results showed that these hybrids were superior cross combinations for pig reproduction.
