Title: Seismic response analysis of a single tower rigid-frame system cable-stayed bridge
Abstract: Based on the nonlinear finite element thoery,a dynamic spatial finite element model of a single tower rigid-frame system cable-stayed bridge is built, and its dynamic characteristics is researched. The synthetic accelerograms compatible with the code response spectrum is generated by triangular series method in order to provide a reasonable seismic input for the time-history analysis method of the cable-stayed bridge system. At last the artificial wave and two realistic earthquake records are adopted in order to conduct a comparative analysis of the structural seismic response under the uniform excitation and travelling wave excitation. The results show that the displacement and internal force response of the bridge are more significant under the combined action of the both longitudinal and vertical excitations than that under the only longitudinal direction excitation;furthermore, the wave travelling effect can greatly reduces the structural displacement response, which is favorable for structural seismic resistance. These conclusions mentioned above will provide a theoretical basis for the design and development of such kind of bridges.
