Title: MRI and CT correlative study of sacral canal cyst
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the value of MRI and CT in the diagnosis of sacral canal cyst.Methods The manifestations of MRI and CT were analyzed retrospectively in 13 cases with operatively and pathologically proven sacral canal cyst.Among them,5 cases were performed with MRI,and 8 cases with both CT and MRI.Results MRI appearances of Sacral canal cyst had characteristics and could be diagnosed before operation,the signal of cysts in accord with that of CSF signal.MRI was superior to CT in the diagnosis of sacral canal cyst.Conclusion MRI is suitable for routine imaging examination in the diagnosis and follow-up of sacral canal cyst;CT can clearly show bone destruction.CT and MRI are effective methods in the diagnosis of sacral canal cyst.
