Title: Effect of Stoichiometric Ratio on Structure and Electrochemical Properties of AB_5-type Hydrogen Storage Alloys
Abstract: Phase structure,microstructure and electrochemical properties of low Co hydrogen storage alloys Ml(Ni_(0.78)Co_(0.08)Al_(0.06)Mn_(0.08))_(x)(4.8≤x≤5.4) have been studied.The results show that alloys consisted of a main phase with CaCu_(5)-type structure and a LaNi_3 secondary phase,and theamount of the second phase(LaNi_3) decreased with the increase of stoichiometric ratio x,the alloy with x=5.4 segregated rich-Ni phase,alloying made stoichiometric ratio x formed single phase AB_(5) type alloys of low Co hydrogen storage alloys increase from 5.0 to 5.2~5.4.The different stoichiometric alloys have favorable activation behavior.The electrochemical capacity of hydrogen storage alloys increased with the increase of stoichiometricratiox.The alloy with x=5.4 has the highest electrochemical capacity,the best discharge voltage character,the best cycling stability and favorable high-rate discharge capacity among the studied alloys.
