Title: Efficacy analysis of laparoscopic palliative resection in middle and lower colorectal cancer
Abstract: Objective To investigate the effect of laparoscopic palliative resection on patients with middle and lower colorectal cancer. Methods Forty- two cases with stage IV middle and lower colorectal cancer were divided randomly into 2 groups with 21 in either group. Patients in both groups were given colorectal cancer palliative resection. Laparoscopic treatment was used in the patients in the observation group while those in the control group were treated with open surgery. Operations and postoperative situations were analyzed. All patients were followed up for 6 months to observe the complications and treatment effect. Results The operation time of patients in the observation group was longer than that in the control group( P 0. 01),while the amount of bleeding was less, and time of intestinal function recovery and length of hospital stay were shorter( P 0. 01). The excellent and good rate in the observation group was higher than the control group( P 0. 05) and the incidence rate of short- term complications was lower( P 0. 05).There were no long- term complications in both groups. Conclusion Laparoscopic palliative resection in middle and lower colorectal cancer can effectively reduce the amount of bleeding, shorten the time of intestinal function recovery and length of hospital stay, reduce postoperative complications and improve the postoperative quality of life.
