Title: FT-IR STUDY ON THE CURING BEHAVIOR OF POLYURETHANES
Abstract: The curing process of polyurethanes was investigated by FT-IR. The curves of conversion α~t at different temperatures were obtained. The curing reaction of TDI-PPG-MOCA was found to be reaction of second order. The reaction rate constants and activation energy had been measured. The effect of the concentrations of curing agent and temperatures on curing reaction were discussed. The results show that, when the mole ratio of NCO/OH is smaller than 1, the crosslinking reaction takes place at higher temperature. Although the concentrations of cure agent and temperatures have not affected the order of reaction and affected the reaction rate constants. The curing rate of MOCA is faster than that of 1,4-butandiol and the curing rate of 1,4-butandiol is faster than that of 1,3-butandiol. The curing agents don′t affected their kinetic order.
