Title: Clinicopathological characteristics of nasal NK/T cell lymphoma
Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinicopathological characteristics, diagnostic features and prognostic factors of nasal NK/T cell lymphoma. Methods 13 cases of nasal NK/T cell lymphoma were studied clinicopathologically and were detected by immunohistochemistry. All of cases had been followed up for 10 years. Results Nasal NK/T cell lymphoma was charaterized by ulcerated tissue densely populated by abnormal lymphoid cells, with large areas of necrosis, affecting both tumorous and uninvolved tissues. Tumor cells presented angioinvasive growth. The positive expression was observed for CD3e,CD45RO, CD56, Pf and GrB. The 5-year disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) rates were 46.1%and 53.8%, respectively. Conclusions The clinical manifestations should be combined with pathology in diagnosing the disease, and the immunohistochemistry is helpful for differential diagnosis. Ann Arbor stage and performance status were singnificant factors influencing DFS and OS.
