Title: THE URBAN MORPHOLOGY OF RESOURCE-BASED CITY IN CHINA——A CASE STUDY OF DAQING CITY
Abstract: With a review of planning of both urban area and oil field in the Daqing city, this study discusses the evolution process of urban morphology of the city, specifically characters in three different spatial resolutions, namely form, structure and texture.Influencing factors, such as resource endowment,socio-economic development and management system are analyzed to realize the morphology mechanism,in the special background of resource-based city.GIS,statistical measures, and type analysis are employed to deal with planning maps and statistical data.Four points of morphological characters are concluded.Firstly with a spatially agglomerate trend,Daqing city holds a form of decentralization.Besides that residential area follows different paths to spread in urban area and oil field.Furthermore texture form of Daqing city is lack of diversification in both shape and hierarchy. Finally a mode of evolution form are constructed to describe the city's form evolution process, also a compound influencing mechanism is presented according to above analysis.
