Title: Environment Substitute Indexes and the Paleoclimate and Paleoenvironment Contained in Stalagmite
Abstract: Stalagmite has become an important carrier in studying paleoclimate and paleoenvironment. This paper discusses some environmental indexes in stalagmites, including its physical indexes such as thickness, fissure and susceptibility and chemical indexes such as organism, fluorescence, layer ash, carbon and oxygen stable isotope, trace element. The chemical indexes are classed to organic indexes and inorganic indexes. The paper also presents a summary of all the indexes respectively and suggests that the stalagmites should be an important tool in paleoclimate and paleoenvironment research.
