Title: Based on This-World to Achieve Glory in Literature--Analysing Modernity in Dante's Poetics
Abstract: Dante is a great thinker of the Middle Ages. However, unlike such theological thinkers as St. Augustine and Thomas Aquinas, who based their thinking on theology and after-world, Dante based his thinking on this-world, which is an essential concern for the humanists. In the final analysis, Dante's poetics has got beyond the thinking mode of the Middle Ages, showing a clear tendency of modernity.
