Title: Evaluation on the Reliability and Validity of SF-36 Scale Applied to Health Measurement in Institution Employees
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the reliability and validity of the SF-36 scale when applied to health measurement of institution employees,so as to provide basis for the development and selection of tools for measuring the health of institution employees. Methods Employees from five institutions in Dongguan city selected by cluster sampling were surveyed. The reliability and validity of SF-36 were analyzed by SPSS and LISREL software. Results The Cronbach′s α of the SF-36 scale was above 0.70,so was the Cronbach′s α for eight dimensions of the physical component summary(PCS) and mental component summary(MCS).Spearman-Brown split coefficient of the scale was 0.767.The construct validity analysis of the SF-36 scale by the second-order confirmatory factor analysis model fitting indicated that the root mean square error of approximation(RMSEA) was 0.071,the non-normed fit index(NNFI) was 0.90 and the comparative fit index(CFI) was 0.91.The standard solutions of the first order and second order factor loading were both greater than 0.30(P0.05).Conclusions SF-36 scale is a reliable and valid tool for measuring the health of institution employees.
