Abstract:Objective To summarize the experience in the treatment of 26 burn patients whose burned area were more than 90% total body surface area(TBSA),in order to improve the treatment level of severe burn.Met...Objective To summarize the experience in the treatment of 26 burn patients whose burned area were more than 90% total body surface area(TBSA),in order to improve the treatment level of severe burn.Methods Twenty-six cases of burn patients whose burned area were more than 90% TBSA were collected in Burns Surgery Department of Inner Mongolia Baogang Hospital from January 2000 to June 2010.The experience from shock fluid,wound closure,organ protection and treatment of complications was retrospectivly analyzed and summarized.Results In the 26 cases,there were 15 cases complicated by sepsis,which were accounted for 57.69%.Eight cases complicated by multiple organ dysfunction syndrome,accounted for 30.77%.Nineteen cases survived,2 cases got better,5 cases died.The overall survival rate was 73.08%.Conclusions In the process of burn patients treatment,timely and effective anti-shock is the key and closing the wound as soon as possible is essential.The comprehensive treatment,such as preventing from infection and sepsis,supporting organ function and nutrition,conditioning the environment is the basis.Read More
