Title: ~(40)Ar-()~(39)Ar DATING OF BIOTITE IN ANDERNITE FROM MAYOUMU GOLD ORE AREA IN TIBET,CHINA
Abstract: Biotite from the major ore-forming stage of the Mayoumu go1d deposit in the Ali region of Tibet, was analysed by the ()~(40)Ar/()~(39)A fast-neutron activation dating technique, which gave a well-defined plateau age of 34.16 Ma±0.12 Ma and an isochron age of 33.54 Ma±0.05 Ma .The plateau age represents crystalline time of biotite.Combined with the geologcal features,it is concluded that there existed a magmatic eruption process in the western part of Gangdese-Yalu Tsangpo (Yaluzangbu) metallogenic belt at the middle Himalaya stage. In this stage, it may have provided hot sources and some metallic element for mineralization of go1d in this area.
