Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the angiographic manifestation and therapeutic effect of emergent arterial embolization in postpartum hemorrhage.Methods: 30 patients suffering postpartum hemorrhage and failed i...Objective:To evaluate the angiographic manifestation and therapeutic effect of emergent arterial embolization in postpartum hemorrhage.Methods: 30 patients suffering postpartum hemorrhage and failed in conservative treatment were conducted internal iliac artery digital subtraction angiography(DSA) to clarify the bleeding artery and were further received gelatin sponge embolism therapy of the target artery and finally reangiographed to check the effectiveness.Results: In 30 patients of postpartum hemorrhage,we conducted 28 arteriae uterine embolism and 2 anterior trunk of internal iliac artery embolism and the hemorrhage were effectively controlled in all 31 patients and no severe complications happened.Conclusion: Emergent arterial embolization as a therapeutic method in postpartum hemorrhage is safe and effective and can be used as the first choice in patients failed in conservative treatment.Read More
