Title: $Effect of fertilizer on glandular trichome density and exudates accumulation in middle leaf of “Honhuadajinyuan”
Abstract: GC/MS method and other quantitative analysis technology were used to study the effects of organic fertilizer and inorganic fertilizer on glandular trichome density, types, and exudates accumulation in middle leaf in field experiment. Results showed that under both fertilizer conditions, four types of glandular trichome were observed, including long stalk, short stalk, forky stalk, and stalk trichome without head.Among which long stalk trichome accounted for 61.27%~76.73%. Long stalk trichome ratio decreased and short stalk trichomes ratio increased when organic fertilizer was used at mature stage compared with at immature stage, while the situation was on the contrary as to inorganic fertilizer. Glandular trichome density of immature middle leaves showed no obvious difference when using two kinds of fertilizers, while that of the mature increased by 22.10% and short stalk trichome increased when using organic fertilizer than inorganic fertilizer. Total glandular trichome density declined by 2.04% with organic fertilizer and 21.14% with inorganic fertilizer at mature stage compared with at immature stage, respectively. Furthermore, the content of α-Duvatriene-4,6-diol and β-Duvatriene-4,6-diol in tobacco leaf exudates were higher in organic fertilizer treatment than inorganic fertilizer at mature stage.
