Title: Clinical and angiographic features of the patients below 35 years old with acute coronary syndrome
Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinical and angiographic features of the patients below 35 years old with acute coronary syndrome(ACS).Methods 85 ACS patients below 35 years old were classified as group A,while other 63 non-coronary artery disease(CAD) patients as group B,the differences in CAD risk factors and angiography between two groups were analysed. Results The smoking index, fasting blood sugar, plasma levels of total cholesterol and low-density-lipoprotein(LDL)were higher while the level of high-density-lipoprotein(HDL)were lower in group A(all P0.05).There were more patients with diabetes in group A than in group B(P0.05).In group A,single-branch disease accounted for 50% of the patients, while slight coronary artery atherosclerosis or normal arteries accounted for 30%.Conclusion The most important risk factors were heavy smoking and low plasma level of HDL in ACS patients below 35 years old, whose coronary arteries were mostly single branch disease, slight abnormality or normality.
