Abstract:【Objective】The variation of crossability and seed morphology caused by interspecific hybrid between Larix principis-rupprechtii and Larix kaempferi were studied to provide scientific reference for bre...【Objective】The variation of crossability and seed morphology caused by interspecific hybrid between Larix principis-rupprechtii and Larix kaempferi were studied to provide scientific reference for breeding and establishing seed gardens.【Method】30crosses were obtained using the control-pollinate method,with parents of 6 L.principis-rupprechtii clones(female)and 5 L.kaempferi clones(male).The maternal free pollinate experiment was set as control.The fruits and seeds of these crosses were collected for testing seed traits and morphological indexes,including seed length,seed width,and seed wing length.The variation of these traits between hybrids and their maternal parents was also analyzed.【Result】The differences of these traits in different hybrid combinations were significant,and all crosses could be classified into 3categories:over-parent,fine and poor,with 2,17 and 11combinations,respectively.Seed plumpness and seed efficiency depended on hybridization combination and seed setting was mainly dominated by the female parents.Hybrid seed size was associated with female parent,and the seed wing lengths of most combinations were over 4%longer than their female parents,part of them were even 10%.【Conclusion】The breeding value of L.principis-rupprechtii×L.kaempferi interspecific hybrids was great,and theeffects of different parental combination on crossability should be used efficiently.Read More
