Title: Clinical Study on the Treatment of Acute Gouty Arthritis Patients by the Integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of the gout-eliminating mixture by Professor Wu Shengyuan's experience on the treatment of acute gouty arthritis patients with cold-damp obstruction and hot stagnation syndrome.Methods: 90 patients were randomly divided into 3 groups,30 patients in each group.The test group was treated with the gout-eliminating mixture,colchicine and allopurinol.The control group 1 was treated with the gouty-eliminating mixture while the control group 2 was treated with colchicine and allopurinol.4 weeks was a course of treatment,with 2 stages.The changes of clinical symptoms were observed in the first week and the changes in blood uric acid were observed after 4 weeks.Results: The syndromes improved in the first week.The total effective rate of the test group was 96.67%;the control group 1 was 73.33%,the control group 2 was 70.00%.By comparison of the total effective rate of the three groups,the test group was significantly better than the control group 1 and the control group 2.The blood uric acid decreased after one month.The total effective rates of the three groups were 91.67%,64.00%,and 60.00% respectively.The total effectiveness of the test group was superior to that of the control group 1 and control group 2.Conclusion: The gout-eliminating mixture is an effective traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of acute gouty arthritis patients,showing a better result in the improvement of clinical symptoms and blood uric acid and enhances the overall effect,by the combination of western medicine.
