Title: Study on adsorption kinetics and thermodynamics of Fe~(3+) from ferromanganese mixture by D401 macroporous resin
Abstract: The static adsorption properties, thermodynamics and kinetics of D401 resin for Fe3 +solution were studied. Not only the influences of concentration of Fe3 +,pH value and temperature on static adsorption were investigated, but also the kinetics of Fe3 +adsorption was explored.Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherm equation were studied to fit the adsorption curve of D401 resin for Fe3 +.The results showed that the saturation adsorption capacity of resin is 115.7 mg / g,pH value is 1.5 and temperature is 313 K.Langmuir equation has a higher correlation than Freundlich to fit the D401 resin for adsorption of Fe3 +.Thermodynamic analysis indicated a spontaneous endothermic process for the adsorption of Fe3 +on the resin. The exchange adsorption rate is mainly controlled by process of particle diffusion, and second order reaction. The date of static adsorption show that iron and manganese ion can be efficiently separated by the D401 macroporous resins from the solution of ferromanganese mixture.
