In the experimental group, 4KE of OK-432 was intraperitoneal injected in 72h, 48h or 24h before operation. In the control group, the same volume of saline was intraperitoneal injected. Peritoneal macrophages(PMΦ) were harvested and the number, the phagocytes activity, the enzyme activity and the NO secretion were analyzed. Using human gastric adenocarcimona cell line MKN1 as target cells, the tumour cytotoxicity of peritoneal macrophages was studied. Results The number, the phagocyte activity, and enzyme activity, the NO secretion and tumoral cytotoxicity of PMΦ was significantly (P0.05) increased by i.p. injection of OK-432. The number and the size of omental milky spots were also significantly increased by OK-432.Conclusion Intraperitoneal injection of Ok-432 before operation can be a effective method to prevent peritoneal recurrence.Read More
