Title: Emptiness: Basic Proposition of Lao Zis Metaphysical Thinking of “Tao”
Abstract: is the basic concept of Taoism. Unlike Confucianism and Mohism, which explain Tao from the viewpoint of ethics, Lao Zi interprets Tao from the angle of a deep consideration of the ultimate problems about the world. Tao is the basic proposition of Lao Zi's metaphysical thinking as well as the principle or the way about the existence of the world. As the law governing the formation and expansion of the universe, existence, which is also the foundation of human beings, is emptiness. Emptiness exists while being does not. Therefore, emptiness becomes the core conception of Lao Zi's metaphysical thinking.
