Title: SURVEY ON THE REFERENCE RANGE OF RETICULOCYTE IN NEONATES IN HOUHEHOT
Abstract: Objective: To detect the reference range of Reticulocyte for neonates using XE-2100 automatic hematology analyzer. Methods: XE-2100 automatic hematology analyzer was used to detect Ret%,RET#,IRF%,LRF% and MFR% from 146 cases of neonates, which were composed by 72 cases of male neonates and 74 cases of female neonates. Suitable statistical analysis methods were employed to establish the normal reference ranges. Results: For RET%,there was significant difference between male and females neonates( 3. 12 ±0. 46 vs 3. 08 ±0. 47,P 0. 05),and mean range for RET% was 3. 19±0. 47. For RET#,there was no significant difference between male and females neonates( 147. 3 ±13. 6 vs 155. 8±14. 1,P0. 05). The reference ranges of IRF for male neonates and female neonates were 21. 55±2. 09 and 23. 59 ±2. 26,respectively. The reference ranges of LFR% for male neonates and female neonates were 76. 49 ±2. 81 and 73. 64 ±2. 42,respectively. The reference ranges of MFR for male neonates and female neonates were 20. 05 ±1. 79 and 18. 59 ±2. 06,respectively. The reference ranges of HFR for male neonates and female neonates were 3. 75 ±0. 09 and 3. 98 ±0. 16. Conclusions: The obtained reference ranges of reticulocyte for neonates using XE-2100 automatic hematology analyzer were not consistent with those reported in previous studies, but there is not significant differences in RET# between male neonates and female neonates. Reticulocyte grouping was not correlated with gender. Each laboratory should determine their own reference ranges based on the instruments used.
