Title: Study on the slaughter performance of Yanjin silkies at different months of age
Abstract: To understand the correlation of slaughter performance of Yanjin silkies at different months of age,the related indexes of slaughter performance of Yanjin silkies at 3,4,and 5 months of age were determined. The results showed that Yanjin silkies at 3,4,and 5 months of age had favorable meat production performance, and their slaughter rates and eviscerated rates reached above 84% and 60%,respectively.There were no significant differences( P 0. 05) in the slaughter rates,head- weight rates, and foot- weight rates of Yanjin silkies. In the other indexes, the live weight, carcass weight,semi- eviscerated weight, eviscerated weight, leg weight and leg muscle weight of the male silkies were highly significantly higher( P 0. 01) or significantly higher( P 0. 05) than those of the female silkies between different genders at the same months of age; there were significant differences( P 0. 05) in the live weight, carcass weight, eviscerated weight, breast weight, breast muscle weight, leg weight, leg muscle weight of the male and female silkies between the same genders at different months of age. All indexes were significantly increased with the increase of the months of age. The result of correlation analysis showed that the relevancy of slaughter weight to semi- eviscerated weight and eviscerated weight was the highest, which reached 0. 999.
