Abstract: “Royalty and forgiveness” is the benevolent way of Confucius's doings, and “harmony” is the central value of the Confucian culture. “Royalty and forgiveness” is in essence “harmony”, a general value that the Chinese culture has given to the world. The harmonious society conceived by Confucius includes harmony of body and soul of superior persons, harmony of family and society, common wealth, pattern of leaders and harmony of man and nature.
