Title: Design and simulation of miniaturized microstrip circulator
Abstract: In order to decrease the plane dimension and meet the demand of miniaturization,microstrip circulators of different structure(single-Y junction,common dual-Y junction,and fish-bone junction) were designed by 3D electromagnetic simulation software HFSS.The simulation results showed that the fish-bone junction microstrip circulator has a smaller plane dimension and more effective area of ferrite substrate compared with single-Y and common dual-Y junction one.At the center frequency,the fish-bone type microstrip circulator exhibits a reflection of 33.8 dB,isolation of 48.6 dB,insertion loss of 0.17 dB,VSWR of 1.05 and bandwidth over 300 MHz,which meet the performance requirements of the circulator.
