Abstract: The granular-cell tumor is a rather uncommon lesion which is occasionally found in the oral cavity. Previous reports state that as many as 50 per cent are found in the oral cavity, with about 33 per cent located in the tongue. A survey of the recent literature does not confirm this observation. Only 28 per cent of the tumors were located in the mouth, and only 23 per cent were found in the tongue. It was also observed that the lesion occurred more frequently in the female, but no racial difference could be found.
