Title: Manganese Concentrations in Tea Garden Soil of Zhejiang Province
Abstract: The total manganese concentrations in tea garden soil taken from Zhejiang province were 357.33±265.26 mg kg~(-1) and available Mn 51.16±30.16 mg kg~(-1) in 0-20cm depth, while the total Mn of 361.69±268.69 mg kg~(-1) and available Mn of 38.32±25.85mg kg~(-1) were foundin 20-40cm depth. The available Mn accounted for 15% of the total Mn. The depletion rate of Mn in the tea soils was about 30%. In comparison, the Mn concentrations in 0-20cm depth were higher than those in 20-40cm depth. A close correlation was found between the plant-Mn content (y) and the available Mn (x), expressed as: y=8.3393x+1101.5(n=58,r=0.519~(**)).Mn could be accumulated in the tea leaves and stems, thus the older the leaves were, the higher the Mn concentrations were. The Mn concentrations in the soils were correlated to pH, Al and parent materials.
