Title: Evaluation of Main Quality Properties of Introduced Rice Germplasm
Abstract: The main quality properties of 125 rice varieties were evaluated, which were introduced from Japan and planted in Ya'an county, Sichuan province. The results showed that amylose contents were extremely different amomg rice varieties. The changes of GT(average 6.15)and protein content were little amomg these varieties. Protein contents of the varieties were low, ranging from 7% to 8%. Consistency of japonica rice was 91.17mm.The fragrance and taste of cooked rice were good with strong sticky and low rigidity characteristics. 46 excellent varieties such as J207,D43,J210,J223,J224,which reached tertiary grade according to the country's standard of high quality rice, were chosen for future use in rice breeding.
