Methods One hundred sixteen aircrew [including 42 bomber pilots (group-1), 33 bomber navigators (group-2), 41 fighter pilots (group-3)] and 185 groundcrew served as subjects. They were asked to complete the Chinese version 15FQ+. The scores of aircrew and groundcrew as well as scores of 3 groups of aircrew on 16 personality traits were compared. Results There was significant difference (P0.05) on 3 factors (fE, fI, fQ_3) of 15FQ+ between the aircrew and groundcrew, showing that aircrew being more dominant, less tender-minded and self-discipline as compared with groundcrew. There was significant difference on 4 factors (fA, fC,fG, fM) of 15FQ+ among 3 aircrew groups: the concrete-abstract score of bomber pilots was significantly higher than bomber navigators and fighter pilots; the fighter pilots showed more emotionally stable and conscientious than that of 2 other aircrew groups, and more empathic than that of bomber pilots. Conclusions The differences in personality traits between aircrew and groundcrew and among 3 aircrew groups were shown through the modified Chinese version 15FQ+.Read More
