Title: Essential Characteristics of Hemingwayesque Narrator——The Characteristics of the Narrator in The Killers
Abstract: Hemingway's writing is characterized by iceberg theory. What readers usually see is the 1/8 part of the iceberg, namely, the text, which is the medium of the exchange between the writer and readers. Therefore,it becomes necessary to probe into the text and find out its traits and meanings on the basis of the text analysis if we want to unveil the mystery of the iceberg below the water. This paper puts forward a new idea that all points of view are the morphing products of the narrator's omniscient point of view, which is illustrated with the example of The Killers.Meanwhile,an analysis is made of the characteristics of the narrator in this short story, which further verifies iceberg theory.
