Title: OPTIMIZATION OF SYNTHETIC TECHNOLOGY OF A NEW BACTERICIDE——BISOCTYL DIMETHYL AMMONIUM BROMIDE
Abstract: A new bactericide---bisoctyl dimethylammonium bromide was synthesized. The structural identification of the product was performed by infrared spectrome-try. Synthetic technology of bisoctyl dimethyl ammonium bromide was optimized by orthogonal experiments. The results showed that the influences of different factors followed as such orders: reactant dosages, reaction time, catalyst content and NaOH concentration. The optimum reaction conditions are: proportion of reactant dosage: (CN3)2NH:NaOH : NaBr = 1 : 1. 25 : 2. 5 ( mol/mol) ; catalyst/reactant -6% (w/w) ;reaction time = 2 hours. Under the optimum conditions, the highest yield of the product is 97 .73% . In addition , ethanol as solvent was better than acetone.
