Title: The myoepithelial immunophenotype in salivevry gland neoplasia
Abstract: Objective:To evaluate the immunoreactivity of 3 novel markers of myoepithelial differentiation in salivary gland tumors.Method:Thirty one salivary gland tumors were stained with p63, Calponin and caldesmon using the S-P immunohistochemical method.Result:In salivery gland tumors, the stainable substances of p63, calpronin and caldesmon were located in the myoepithelial cells. The positive rates of p63, calponin and caldesmon were 93.6%, 77.4% and 9.6% respectively. Conclution:p63 and calponin are sensitive markers of neoplastic myoepithelium and they are helpful in the differential diagnosis of salivary gland Tumor.
