Title: Study on the effects of radiotherapy combined with local endogenetic thermotherapy in patients with cancer and bone metastases
Abstract: Objective:To investigate the effects of radiotherapy combined with local endogenetic thermotherapy in treatment of cancer and bone metastases. Methods:Fifty patients with cancer and bone metastases were divided randomly into 2 groups,25 patients of control group were treated with radiotherapy only,25 patients of treatment group were treated with radiotherapy combined with local endogenetic thermotherapy.Total radiation dose was 30Gy/10 fractions, single prescription dose was 3.0Gy/fraction,5 fractions per week, treatment group was combined local endogenetic thermotherapy, temperature was controlled in 41℃-43℃,3-5 times per week for total 7-10 times.Response rates of bone pain relief and movement capacity were evaluated after treatment for 2 weeks in two groups. Results:Twelve patients in CR and 5 patients in PR,response rate of bone pain relief was 68.0% in control group of 25 patients with bone pain,17 patients in CR and 5 patients in PR,response rate of bone pain relief was 91.6% in treatment group of 24 patients with bone pain(P0.05).Response rates of movement capacity were 75.0% in control group and 100.0% in treatment group(P0.05).The side-effects in treatment group was not obviously increased than in control group. Conclusion:Radiotherapy combined with local endogenetic thermotherapy is a good method in treatment of cancer and bone metastases, the effect of treatment group is better than that of radiotherapy only.
