Methods:All the patients recruited were randomized into the trial and control groups treated with gatifloxacin and ofloxacin respectively. The regimen for gatifloxacin was 0.2 g oral bid for 7-14 d. The regimen for ofloxacin was 0.2 g oral bid for 7-14 d too. Results:The clinical cure rates in the trial and the control groups were 84.0% vs 80.0%; effective rates were 96.0% vs 88.0%; bacterial eradication rates were 100.0% vs 90.5%. The incidence of adverse reaction in the two groups were 20.0% vs 24.0%. There was no significant difference between two groups( P 0.05). Conclusion:Gatifloxacin is a potent antibiotic agent and can be recommended to treat bacterial infectious diseases.
