Abstract:For how to realize fast and efficient initiation and generate steady detonation wave in the pulse detonation tube is one of the key technologies,a mathematical model of the plasma jet ignition and mul...For how to realize fast and efficient initiation and generate steady detonation wave in the pulse detonation tube is one of the key technologies,a mathematical model of the plasma jet ignition and multiphase detonation was developed to investigate the role of the plasma jet on the pulse detonation engine. The space- time conservation element and solution element( CE / SE) method was used to solve the equations,which has the advantages of high precision. The results show that the way of plasma jet ignition can achieve the Deflagration to Detonation Ttransition( DDT) process and finally form steady detonation. The jet energy and time have a significant impact on DDT. Increasing the jet energy and time has less effection on Deflagration to Detonation when the plasma jet has fully ignited the explosive mixture. It has an important guidance on the experiment and design of the pulse detonation engine by the calculation results.Read More
