Title: Establishment of the indirect immunofluorescence assay for detecting the IgG antibody of epidemic encephalitis virus in serum of pigs and its preliminary use
Abstract: To establish an indirect immunofluorescence assay(IFA) to detect IgG antibody to Japanese encephalitis virus(JEV)in sera of pigs, the C6/36 cells infected with JEV were used to prepare the cell antigen smears,so as to establish a method of assay to detect the IgG antibody to JEV in sera of pigs as well as to be used in the epidemiological surveys. It was found the positive detection rate of anti JEV-IgG antibodies with antibody titers of more than 1∶200 in serum specimens from 50 cases of sows,55cases of young pigs and 65 cases of hogs were 88.00%,10.91% and 24.62% respectively. It is evident that this specific IFA assay can be used for the epidemiological investigations for the status of JEV infection in pigs.
