Abstract:To assess the genetic diversity of pepper germplasm resources and some taxonomic problems of Piper genus,56 accessions were analyzed using inter-simple sequence repeat(ISSR) markers.7 primers were scr...To assess the genetic diversity of pepper germplasm resources and some taxonomic problems of Piper genus,56 accessions were analyzed using inter-simple sequence repeat(ISSR) markers.7 primers were screened from 100 random primers,and a total of 141 fragments were amplified ranging from 0.2~3.0 kb,all of which were polymorphic.The average number of DNA band produced by each primer was 20.1.Based on the dendrogram of UPGMA,56 accessions could be divided into three groups at the level of 0.51,which was similar to the results of Jaramillo et al.obtained from the studies on ITS sequences.The location of P.umbellatum in the dendrogram showed that it had high level of genetic distance to other accessions,which was similar to the results of morphology and floristic geography.The high degree of correlation among P.boehmeriifolium,P.boehmeriifolium var.tonkinense,P.terminaliflorum and P.glabricaule supported well former researches,and it was reasonable to combine the first three speices into one taxon(P.boehmeriifolium),and alter Piper glabricaule as a variety.And the phylogenetic relationships of some other species were also discussed.Read More
