Abstract: The effect of two speed treadmill running(moderate intensity : 20m/min, 60min/day, 5days/week , Run1 and high intensity : 30m/min,60min/day,5days/week, Run2) on body weight, muscle weight and volume of triceps surae, length and width of femoral shaft was investigated in 3 months old ovariectomized (OVX) rats compared with sedentary OVX and sedentary sham-operated rats. The results showed that weight gain were higher in three OVX groups especially in Run1 group. Comparing the OVX group, two training groups had significant effects on the muscle weight , but Run1 training had significant effects on the muscle volume. Comparing the sham-operated group, two training groups had no significant effects on the femoral shaft width, but EX-1 training had significant effects on the length. In conclusion that the moderate intensity treadmill running had active effect on ovariectomized rats and the high intensity running had no significant effects.
