Title: Effect of Glucose on in vitro Maturation of Oocytes in Mice
Abstract: Objective:The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of glucose on in vitro maturation of oocytes of Kunming mice. Methods Superovulation in mouse was initiated with PMSG.After 48 h,the murine cumulus-oocyte complexes(COC) were matured in vitro in medium with different concentrations of glucose, respectively, for 24 h.Results:The rate of in vitro maturation(IVM) in the group with 5.6 mmol/L glucose was significantly higher than that of others(P0.05).There were no significant differences between the groups with 2.8 mmol/L and the control one.Meanwhile, the percentage of the group treated with 11.2 mmol/L glucose, was much lower than that in the control group(P0.05).Conclusion The results indicated that 11.2 mmol/L glucose may play a negative role in the in vitro maturation of mouse oocytes.
