Title: STUDY ON THE COMPATILIZATION OF BLOCK COPOLYMERS IN POLYMER BLENDS II. INFLUENCE OF PS-b-PMMA ON THE MORPHOLOGY OF PVC/SBS BLENDS
Abstract: A series of poly(styrene b methyl methacrylate) with different molecular weight and monomer composition are used as the compatilizers of PVC/SBS blends. By observing the relationship between the morphology of PVC/SBS blends and the factors, such as the composition of PVC and SBS , the content and the molecular structure of the compatilizer, the compatilizing effect of PS b PMMA to PVC/SBS blends is studied. The molecular structure of PS b PMMA has important influence on the morphology of PVC/SBS blends. Among the adopted compatilizers, the one with smaller molecular weight and closer chain length of PS and PMMA has better compatilizing efficacy.
